With our mild temperate climate, New Zealand has a wealth of beautiful gardens, which are available for garden enthusiasts to visit and enjoy. The native flora and fauna of New Zealand is unique with 80% of New Zealand Native plants not able to be grown anywhere else in the world. The foliage, colour and texture of our fauna are unsurpassed. We have many contacts and will make your tour an enjoyable experience.

Garden Tour suggested itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Auckland Explore the city of sails with an orientation tour of the city including the viaduct basin and one tree hill for stunning views of the city and the harbour. Tonight we have a welcome dinner

Day 2
Auckland local gardens Auckland is the most populated region in New Zealand with many beautiful gardens to visit, both large and small. We will visit a selection of these gardens

Day 3
Auckland – Rotorua Depart Auckland and travel south to Joy Gardens a garden of National significance. A plant paradise where a collection of rare and unusual plants thrive. A stop will be made at Terau a town specializing in art and craft

Day 4
Rotorua Today we enjoy the many sights of Rotorua the geothermal centre of New Zealand with its many hot mud pools and geysers. Tonight experience a Maori culture show and hangi (feast) to learn about the many Maori traditions.

Day 5
Rotorua – Waitomo – New Plymouth Today we visit Waitomo Caves world famous for its limestone formations and many glow worms. We will also visit Jury Gardens another garden of National Significance before arriving in New Plymouth

Day 6
New Plymouth
Visit a selection of the many nationally recognised gardens that New Plymouth has to offer including Pukekura Park and the world famous Pukeiti Rhododendron gardens.
Tonight enjoy dinner in the private homes of members of the Pukeiti Rhododendron trust

Day 7
New Plymouth – Wanganui Taranaki is the heart of New Zealand Gardens with more gardens of National significance than any other region in New Zealand. Today we will visit a selection of these gardens that will most interest your tour group

Day 8
Wanganui – Wellington
This morning we will enjoy a trip on the Wanganui River before departing to Paloma Gardens a garden of many different varieties of plants from all over the world. Our next stop is Efil Doeg Gardens. A highly regarded garden of international renown. See this beautiful garden and enjoy the art and facilities. All designed with imagination and humour - a series of interconnected outdoor and indoor features combining to a harmonious and breathtaking whole.

Day 9
Wellington A free day to explore New Zealand’s capital city. A must do is Te Papa our national museum showcasing the multi cultural essence of this nation.

Day 10
Wellington - Christchurch
Today we will visit a selection of the gardens that Wellington has to offer including
Otari Wiltons Bush Native Botanic Garden. Just 10 minutes from the heart of Wellington set in 90 hectares is a collection of natives. Take the walkway through the treetops to experience a bird’s eye view of the distinctive beauty of this garden.

Day 11
Christchurch City
Experience the beautiful botanic gardens in Christchurch City and then discover one of the many private gardens of Christchurch a city known as the garden city. Tonight enjoy dinner in the private homes of members of the Christchurch botanic gardens

Day 12
Christchurch - Ashburton – Mount Cook
Today visit Trotts gardens in Ashburton. Trott's Garden has been awarded the prestigious "Award of Garden Excellence" by the Canterbury Horticultural Society, for gardens considered to be outstanding for their horticultural value in plant material, cultivation, design, construction, and maintenance. Travel through the McKenzie Country to Lake Tekapo with the picturesque Church of the good Shepherd overlooking the lake. Overnight at the Hermitage at Mount Cook village

Day 13
Mount Cook – Wanaka - Queenstown
Visit Stuarts’s Garden in Wanaka. This well-known Wanaka garden has featured many times in magazines and television. It comprises woodland, alpine and perennial areas. An extensive collection of hellebores, as well as many rare and unusual plants, make this a garden for all seasons

Day 14
Queenstown
Today is free to explore Queenstown the adventure capital of New Zealand. Must dos are the Skyline Gondola for magnificent views of the city and lake Wakatipu. Cruise the Lake on the Earnslaw or for those more adventurous jet boat one of the many rivers or even try a bungy jump in the place that bungy jumping was born.

Day 15
Queenstown - Te Anau Not to be missed is a trip to the Milford Sounds where a boat cruise is the only way to access and appreciate the stunning scenery that the Milford sound has to offer.

Day 16
Te Anau – Invercargill Today we travel to the Southern most town in New Zealand with a garden stop in Winton and a visit to Bluff the most Southern point of the South Island famous for it’s Oysters

Day 17
Invercargill – Dunedin Travel to Dunedin with a stop at Maple Glen, A 25 acre private garden, nursery, aviary, woodland and wetland set in the rolling green countryside of Southland

Day 18
Dunedin This morning tour Dunedin New Zealand’s first capital city with its unspoilt heritage of Edwardian and Victorian architecture and spectacular coastal scenery.

Day 19
Dunedin – Auckland A morning flight to Auckland to connect with your international flight This is a sample itinerary for more information or other option please contact us
